David and Kathryn

Sunday, May 18, 2014
Earlier this week, Bryndle and I were thrilled to meet up with David and Kathryn to capture some engagement photos.  My goodness, what a fun couple!!!  We spent over an hour together just laughing, being silly, and snapping photos.  My favorite kind of session!!!

Both Bryndle and I have known Kathryn for years in different capacities.  We've all had the opportunity through social media to watch each other's lives unfold, and  I've so enjoyed sharing Kathryn's joy as her love story with David began to unfold.  A love story authored by our great God is knit together with an intricacy and intimacy that is both awe-inspiring and humbling, and the story of how God brought together this sweet couple is no exception.  What a beautiful life He gives.

Kathryn and David are to be married in October, and I have no doubt it will be a day filled with incredible love.  It was tangible in every moment we spent with these two.

I had never met David before, but it was immediately apparent that he absolutely adored his beautiful bride-to-be.  Kathryn positively beamed when David looked at her, and in his eyes was the most tender and pure adoration for the woman God has chosen to be his wife.

This couple was also a lot of fun!  They don't take themselves too seriously, which are far as Bryndle and I are concerned, make us all a pretty good match! :)

There were some schenanigans going on while trying to get this shot, but I think the outtakes are just as much fun as the final! I told you they were a fun couple!!

What these two do take seriously is the commitment they have made to one another, and the love that they have found.

David and Kathryn, congratulations!!!   Our God is faithful and good, and in His perfect timing has led you each into a love to last a lifetime.  What great joy and great promise your future holds!!  October will be here before you know it!

Oh, and PS:  David....killer job on picking out Kathryn's custom-made ring.  Can we say gorgeous?!

Solomon Family

Saturday, May 17, 2014
Tonight I had the chance to take some updated family photos for the Solomon family.  The first time we met, Bryndle and I were taking newborn photos of sweet Annie and Gabe....just look at them now!!  They certainly aren't newborns anymore :)

Kevin and Kristine are two of the most kind-hearted people I know.  They are always looking for ways to bless others, and are the first to volunteer to help whenever they see a need.   What an absolute treasure this family is to know and love!  It is my absolute honor to get to call these sweet people my dear friends.

They are also fiercely loving parents, who so clearly adore their precious babies. Their little ones are an answer to many prayers, and God has been so gracious in--quite literally--filling Kevin and Kristine's arms with babies to love!!

The oldest of the Solomon kids is Jonathon.  He'll be turning three in August, and my goodness what a handsome little man!  He has an adventurous spirit and a sparkle in his eye that you can't help but love.  I adore this picture of him because it caught him in his element--as an explorer of the world at his fingertips.  I hope he never loses that sweet innocence.

The Solomon twins are Gabrielle and Anabella, and let me tell you, they are as sweet as can be!!  Both have stunningly beautiful eyes.  Gabe's caught the light so perfectly in this photo, and despite navigating the world of teething for the first time, he still had such sweet smiles to share!  I look at this picture and can't even believe this is the same itty-bitty baby we photographed as a newborn.  He's just such a little love!  My favorite moments with this little man was right after Kevin and Kristine got him out of the car and I was chatting with him in his infant seat....he had so much to say! He had me wrapped around his finger right there.  I'm a total sucker for those sweet baby coos :)

Sweet little Annie is an inquisitive little thing, and in this photo I'm just sure she's wondering who in the world it is that's got a giant black thing pointed at her face while making silly, kinda ridiculous, noises ;)

....but all that silliness paid off, because Annie rewarded me with some pretty darn sweet baby girl smiles!!  She is a little doll.  I could just eat this girl up with a spoon!

Kevin and Kristine certainly have their hands full with three little ones under three, but what came through in these photos was how full their hearts were also.  So much love and joy was captured in these simple moments spent together as a family of five.

See? It's like I said.  Their arms are certainly full....but not nearly as full as their hearts.

Solomon family, thank you for the pleasure of photographing your beautiful family!

William and Alex

Thursday, May 15, 2014
Tonight I met up with the Engelsman family to take some belated Mother's Day photos of their sweet boys William and Alex!  This family has been so very patient as we've had to reschedule not one but two sessions due to bad weather!!

I'm so very glad that we decided to wait for the perfect day, because this evening.....was perfect!!!

Meet William!  This little man is so full of personality and spunk--a man after my own heart!  Loved his mischievous smile and the bright sparkle in his eye.  What a handsome big brother!

And this little mister is six-month-old Alex. This guy has the most scrumptious little features.  Every photo I took of him was just perfection.  Look at those eyes!  And those lips!

These two boys are going to have the best time growing up side by side. Brothers are built in best friends, and I just love capturing little moments inside that special relationship.   I just adore Alex's little toes up in the air as big brother plays with him!

Amy and Nia Lakalaka

Sunday, May 4, 2014
The next session for Mother's Day minis belonged to Amy Lakalaka and her beautiful 7-month old daughter Nia.  This is the second time I've had the chance to photograph Miss. Nia, and she gets more beautiful every single time I see her!!

This was a special session for Amy, because it was meant to help her celebrate her very FIRST Mother's Day!  New motherhood is such joy.  Amy is an incredible mother to Nia, and they are so blessed to have been given the gift of one another.

Nia is one of the most strikingly beautiful babies I have ever seen.  Her eyes are gorgeous and absolutely melt into pools of pure chocolate when the camera gets on them. I just can't stop taking pictures of them.

Amy and Nia's relationship is so natural.  Motherhood comes so easily to Amy, and her love for Nia flows out of her in every touch, and every interaction.  I absolutely love being a witness to that precious bond between a mama and her baby.

Amy, congratulations on your FIRST Mother's Day!  Sweet Nia has been given a precious gift in you as her mama.  You were custom built for the job!

Kanaeholo Family

Yesterday morning, I met up with the Kanaeholo family for the first of the Mother's Day mini-sessions!  My goodness did I ever luck out with this sweet family--this family was a dream to photograph.  And what wonderful parents these two have!

Isn't this family gorgeous?!  Beautiful people, with such kind hearts and ready smiles.  My favorite to photograph!!

There's also no doubt that these kids love their parents.  The biggest, brightest smiles were reserved for them!

This little man just started crawling, but he wasn't too sure about giving it a try in the grass.  He sure does look cute trying though!!

And this big sister couldn't be any cuter if she tried!  What a sweet little princess.

Kanaeholo family, what a pleasure it was to take photographs for you!  It was such a joy to meet you and spend a little bit of time with your family.  I hope you love the results!!

Gahlsdorf Family

This week we were blessed with such beautiful weather!!  On Thursday night I headed out to Minto Brown park to capture some photos of 7-month old Carson and his parents Chris and Katy!  I've actually known Katy most of my life, which made it even more fun to see her again and meet her sweet family!

Isn't Carson just the most beautiful baby?  He has crazy beautiful blue eyes, long, dark lashes and the cutest smile that lights up his entire face.

One of my favorite things to do in family sessions is to step back and let families be families.  I like to watch them play together, giggle, and capture those sweet interactions that just can't be replicated.  For the Gahlsdorf family, pretty much all the pictures had one common theme: LOVE.  This family adores each other, and it's so very evident in every photo taken.  Just look how much Carson loves his mommy!

Look at this guy!  Such a silly personality.  He was so easy to photograph and such a little ham!!

Chris and Katy, what a incredible bond you two have with your precious son!  Thank you for the chance to capture these memories for your family.  Carson is perfect in every single way!

McLaughlin Family

Friday night, I headed up to Silver Creek Falls for a session with the McLaughlin family!  What a treat. It was a gorgeous night with gorgeous subjects!

Meet Loren, Jennifer, Kayce and Ellie!

Kayce and Ellie are just the sweetest together.  When big sister Kayce wasn't in the picture, she was behind the camera blowing bubbles and being silly to get Ellie to smile.  And boy did Ellie ever love that!!

And let's talk about Kayce for a minute. Do you see this?! What a gorgeous young lady!

And sweet Ellie?  Such a doll.  Somebody sure loves her daddy!

Loren and Jennifer, it was such a pleasure to meet your darling girls and have the chance to take some photos for your family.   I hope you love them as much as I loved taking them for you!
